Port Nicholson Block Settlement Trust

The Port Nicholson Block Settlement Trust was established on 11 August 2008. The purpose of the trust is to receive, administer and manage the assets, rights and cash of the settlement package for the benefit of Taranaki Whanui ki Te Upoko o Te Ika.

The People
Taranaki Whanui ki Te Upoko o Te Ika is made up of four iwi groups:
(1) Taranaki
(2) Te Atiawa
(3) Ngati Ruanui
(4) Ngati Tama

In addition the trust maintains a kiatiaki role for Ngati Mutunga.

The Governance

The Management Team
A small project management team runs the day-to-day operations of the Trust. Specialist advice is bought in on an as required basis.
